Rising senior Okie Bernabo of Mahopac has made his college choice.
The versatile midfielder has decided to join C.W. Post, which won the Division II title this past season.
Here’s a Q&A with Okie on his decision:
What did you like best about the C.W. Post program?
The coaching staff. I had met (Assistant) Coach (Frank) Vitolo while playing for WestRock and then met Coach (John) Jez when I visited. Also, the succces the program has had.
Did the fact they won the Division II title this past season influence your decision?
The fact that they won it helped with the decision, but I had considered it before that.
How did your visit there go and what other schools did you visit?
My visit there was awesome. I loved the campus and after meeting Coach Jez, I knew I could see myself playing for him. I visited Marist and Quinnipiac prior to C.W. Post.
How would you describe your playing style for someone who hasn’t seen you? What are your strength as a player? What areas do you need to work on?
I consider myself a very hard worker and unselfish player. I think iIneed to work on shooting left-handed. Some strengths are speed, field vision and feeding.
