The new geographically aligned leagues in Section 1 have created some interesting scenarios for next season.
Yorktown is in a different league than John Jay and Somers but Yorktown will host John Jay and play at Somers. Both games are expected to be night games.
Also, look for Somers and Ridgefield to meet again next season for the second straight year.
Also of note, the Empire State Games are for sale.
At least the naming rights to the Games.
Word came about that yesterday as part of a plan to raise money to maintain the Games. You can read more about that here.
Meanwhile, on the recruiting front, one of the more recent commitments was John Jay defenseman Zack Waldman deciding on Tufts.

One thing I like, or should say, liked about HS lax is that its like football in that the big rivals meet once not twice in the regular season. Having two JJ-Somers games takes away that luster of one big annual game.

Many moons ago (early 1980’s) we played home-home against teams in our league. I was at John Jay, and our big rival back then was Byrum Hills, played them twice regular season and a 3rd time during playoffs. I assure you, there was no lacking of luster in any of these three games.
