The lacrosse world has been buzzing about the voided certifications of two popular helmet brands — the Cascade Model R and Warrior Regulator — by the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment, which has ruled them unsuitable for play.
The topic is now drawing national media attention.
The helmet decertifications have “caused parents and coaches across all levels of the sport to reconsider everything from the safety of lacrosse to their holiday shopping lists,” according to a story published in the New York Times.
