Jamesville-Dewitt’s run of consecutive New York State titles came to a close this season, but the Red Rams continue to roll in with college commitments.
In the next couple of days, we will be focusing on some of them.
Today, we profile junior attackman Griffin Feiner.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is a strong, right-handed finisher with exceptional stick skills.
Feiner, who enjoyed a productive summer for Team United, has verbally committed to the University of Hartford.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Griffin on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
I felt the school was the right size for me and a good fit academically. I also felt like I really fit in with the lacrosse team at Hartford. I feel that the coaches are truly committed to leading the team to be successful both on and off the field.
What other schools were you considering?
I also considered and visited Drexel, UMass and Providence.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I would describe my self as a strong finisher with a high lax IQ.
What areas of your game have you been working to improve on?
I have really been working on improving my dodging skills.
Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
The biggest influences on me during my development as a player have been my all the great coaches I have had over the years. It started with my coaches in the youth program and have continued with both my high school and club team coaches.
What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in last summer?
I played on Team United last summer. I played in Summer Slam, Syracuse Shootout and MVP. I also played in the Wildcat Invitational with my high school team Jamesville-Dewitt.
