It’s called the House of Sports.
But don’t be surprised if the new sports training facility opening this month in Ardsley soon becomes known as the House of Lacrosse.
That’s because the $20 million indoor center, slated to open on Monday, Sept. 10, has gone all out in catering to the large — and growing — boys and girls lax communities in Westchester as well as neighboring Rockland and Putnam counties and northern New Jersey and western Connecticut.
In addition to lacrosse, the state-of-the-art 120,000 square foot facility will also have training for baseball and basketball.
The lacrosse program is being headed up by one of the biggest names in the game — former Duke star and 2010 Tewaaraton winner Ned Crotty (left), a graduate of the Delbarton School in New Jersey.
Crotty, a 6-foot-2 attackman, was a three-time All-American for the Blue Devils and captain of the 2010 national championship team. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2010 MLL draft and also plays in the NLL.
Crotty is Executive Director of House of Sports’ Lacrosse Academy.
Former Binghamton University standout Anna O’Connor is the HOS’s Director of Girls Lacrosse.
The staff also includes former Fairfield University assistant Tony Vallance and former Syracuse star Tom Guadagnolo.

The lacrosse hub at the House of Sports will be an 80-yard turf field that will be divided into four sections. It will be the headquarters for year-round lacrosse programs.
One of the big events this month will be the Ned Crotty Jamboree, which is being run Sept. 15-23 in partnership with the Charlie Murphy Jamboree, for boys and girls from kindergarten through the 12th grade.
Tryouts for the House of Sports Lacrosse Academy club teams for boys and girls ages 7-17 will be Sept. 24 through Oct. 5. For more info, click here.
There will also be free daily clinics starting Sept. 10 and running through Oct. 5 Mondays through Fridays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (kindergarten through sixth grade) and from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (grades 7-12).
There will also be free holiday camps during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
House of Sports is centrally located at 1 Elm Street in Ardsley, just off Route 9A (Saw Mill River Road), less than five miles from downtown White Plains, seven miles from the Tappan Zee Bridge, 12 miles from the New York/Connecticut border, 15 miles from the New York/New Jersey border and 30 miles from Nassau County.
