We have one public school boys conference champion already crowned.
It happened yesterday as New Canaan scored 10 times in the second half to defeat Ridgefield 11-9 in the FCIAC championship game.
Matt Blasco and Michael Bossidy each had four goals for the Rams, who won their first FCIAC title since 2003.
Now let’s take a look ahead to next week.

Bville 13 Hen Hud 5
Pac 11 Mamo 7
Town 12 Jay 9
WI 12 WM 9
Wog 14 Sayville 8
SWR 11 BPBP 8
Pequa 14 Sy 9
Cold Spring 14 Friends 6
Garden City 13 Wantaugh 9
Class A
PAC 11 Mamaroneck 5
They have played a lot of tight teams in big games. That will be a difference. Talent gap between LP,PAC and the rest of Class A is still there.
Class C
Bronxville 14 HH 9.
Close until 4th. Bronxville will need to score to win. Low scoring game benefits Sailors.
Class B
Town 12. JJ 7
Zone may slow town down but not for four quarters. Manning at face offs is huge. Close at half then Town takes control. Gatelyand Mariano have big games. As do Branca and Lambert. They are keys to JJ playing 4 quarters.
Just one mans prediction.
Solid picks & breakdowns. HH will need to employ an active pressure zone like Byram did in the semi’s Bville coach admitted it gave them problems. Zone-Up & win FOs & slow it down. Kepping Broncos at 7 or less goals & being able to score especially in transition could keep the C Final close(r)
Mamo has some mojo. Played Very well before big gun went down midway through season. Defense has finally grown up and Brill will have to stand on his head between pipes, but anything is possible…
Pac 10 Neck 9 -who is Mamaroneck ? Nobody really knows, but they have decided to go off in the last two playoff games playing as well as an LP would be against like opponents. PAC needs to understand this and come ready.
Bronxville 10 Hen Hud 8 – giving the talent edge to Bville because they have it. But, they struggled with Byram Hills and Hen Hud has a great FO guy as well as goaltender. It hasn’t happened yet this season but we’ve been waiting for HUD to use these to positions to upset somebody. Would be tough, but not impossible.
Town 12 Jay 10. History dictates that Town will be well prepared for Jay and will use schemes that others have used against a Jay team that has played to level of it’s competition up until last week’s 9-3 sound win over Somers. If Jay comes ready to play, and believes that they can win, they have a shot- but Town’s attack will be tough to contain for four quarters, particularly if they need goals and are under pressure late in the game. Town would rather be playing Somers but has proven thus far that they are the best in Section one.
Parity has made this an interesting season and these championships are no exception. Upsets are called upsets but that ball can bounce in some funny ways.
I’ll take Cold Spring, Pequa, and Garden City. GC vs. Wantaugh has the potential to be a game. Wantaugh ran away from Manhasset by six goals. Manhasset is a little down this season but still a very respectable squad.
Shore ham , Wogue and West Islip too
Duke’s goalie hasn’t made a big save all day! Danowski should of pulled him when he let up his 1st goal of the 2nd half. He’s got Kyle Turri on the bench?
Hats off to Notre Dame freshman Jack Near of Bronxville who is starting at DM.
Congrats to Casey Bocklet from john jay on scoring a goal and winning the women’s national championship for Northwestern last night. She becomes the third Bocklet to win a ncaa championship.
