First came New Jersey.
Then Nassau. And Suffolk. And the PSAL. Followed by the South-West Connecticut Conference and Section 1.
Today, more postseason high school tournament pairings from the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tristate region, will be unveiled.
We are expecting to have seeds for the FCIAC sometime in the morning.
Also during the day, we should have pairings for the Section 9 tournament.
For an overview of the Section 1 playoffs, be sure to check Joe’s rundown from “Lacrosse Monday” on MSG Varsity’s “High School SportsDesk.”

Now, a quick word about the CHSAA.
There are eight teams in the CHSAA A Division and two teams — Iona Prep and Fordham Prep — in the AA Division. For postseason play, the top two teams from A play the top two teams from AA in the first round.
After the two teams that moved up from A to AA to play, they come back down to play in the A bracket.
With that in mind, Stepinac starts playoff action with an AA game today at 4:30 p.m. against an Iona Prep team that is red-hot and played Chaminade to a 9-5 game yesterday.
Stepinac’s first-round Class A game is scheduled for Saturday vs. Cardinal Hayes.
The Section 1 Tournament kicks into high gear with first-round games tomorrow.
Today, there are three outbracket games in Class C.
At 4:30 p.m., No. 16 Pearl River hosts No. 17 Westlake and No. 14 Hastings plays at No. 19 Briarcliff. No. 15 Blind Brook hosts No. 18 Pleasantville at 5 p.m.
Postseason action in one of the region’s most competitive classes, Section 11 (Suffolk) Class A starts today with four first-round games: No. 12 Half Hollow Hills West plays at No. 5 Bay Shore (with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals at No. 4 Sachem North); No. 11 Walt Whitman visiting No. 6 Smithtown East (the winner goes to No. 3 Ward Melville); No. 10 Half Hollow Hills East at No. 7 Sachem East (with the winner advancing to play at No. 2 Smithtown West) and No. 9 West Babylon at No. 8 Northport (with the winner playing at No. 1 West Islip).
In a Nassau County Class B quarterfinal doubleheader today, Manhasset will take on Bethpage and Wantagh will face Carey at Hofstra University.
Finally, in a game with no postseason implications, but an intriguing test just the same, Fairfield Prep hosts CHSAA power St. Anthony’s at 5 p.m.
