Congrats to Case Matheis, who just became the all-time leading scorer in Darien history,with 249 points, in a 16-0 win over Fairfield-Warde.
The Duke-bound Matheis, who had three goals and three assists, broke the previous record of 248 held by 2006 graduate Cooper MacDonnell, who went on to star at Loyola University.
Matheis now has 139 goals and 110 assists for his career.
“Thank you to all coaches and teammates over the past four years who made this possible.,” Matheis said. “And importantly, thanks to my family.”
The Blue Wave returns to action on Thursday with a 6 p.m. game at Wilton in a rematch of last year’s Class M state semifinal game, which Wilton won to end the Blue Wave’s attempt at a seventh straight state title.
