Are they changing up the way their high school teams are done? Last year they did a black and a gold team for all the high schoolers is it different this year?
Should be a lot of good competition for spots.
It should be noted alot of talented southern Westcheter/Connecticut player play for the Sting in addition to the LI kid of course.
They usually have two and sometimes three teams at each level. Black is the top team, and Gold is the second team. Kids can move between the teams during the summer depending on tournament. For example, if a kid on the Black team needs to take time off for Empires or Jake Reed etc, a kid from White can move up. Both teams get lots of exposure, but Black gets somewhat more, as coaches make a point of showing up to watch their games. Kids come fro L.I., Westchester,Fairfield, New England preps (Deerfield etc.), and other areas like Texas, Florida, etc. The top team is usually competitive with the very top teams on the summer circuit. Last two summers were very strong. Sting players seem to get recruited by many top academic schools.
Thanks for the info on the tryouts.
