The big shakeup in the White House on Friday has a Long Island lacrosse connection.

Newly named communications director Anthony Scarmucci is a Port Washington native who is the father of recent Manhasset HS grad Anthony Scaramucci Jr., a longstick midfielder who will play at Sacred Heart University.

Anthony Sr., a 53-year-old entrepreneur, financier and author, is a longtime friend of President Donald Trump.

He is a graduate of Tufts who attended Harvard law school before embarking on a lucrative career in finance. He sold his share of SkyBridge Capital, the hedge fund he founded in 2005, earlier this year.

Scaramucci is also known in baseball circles for purchasing the No. 31 jersey worn by Mets catcher Mike Piazza  during the first professional sports event following the 9/11 terrorist attacks for $365,000.
