It’s time for you to decide.
We’ve concluded polls in Connecticut, Long Island, Hudson Valley and New Jersey, with those four winners gaining a spot in our final 24-hour poll starting at high noon Monday that will determine your choice for the best player in the tristate for this past varsity season.
Here’s a rundown of the final four, with poll requests for each region as well.
Connecticut – Christian Paley, Somers (CT), A: The No. 2 all-time leading scorer in Connecticut history, the University of Hartford-bound scoring sensation led Somers to back-to-back state titles.
Hudson Valley – Brian Reda, Pleasantville (NY), A: The junior led Pleasantville to its third straight Section 1 (NY) Class C title,. Reda, who broke the school record for career points (255) in the sectional final, became the first player in Pville history to commit to a D-I program as a freshman when he verballed to Fairfield in June 2015.
Long Island – Connor DeSimone, Smithtown East (NY), A: The Johns Hopkins-bound senior capped his standout varsity career by leading the Red Bulls to the Suffolk County finals. DeSimone finished this past season with 60 goals and 54 assists for 114 points (second on the Island).
New Jersey – Colin Crowley, Delbarton (NJ), M: A versatile two-way player, the Villanova-bound senior did it all for the Green Wave, who won the Tournament of Championships title game for the 11th time.
