Who was the best varsity boys lacrosse player in the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse in 2017?

We’re thisclose to finalizing our Final Four nominees.

We’ve concluded polls in Connecticut, Long Island and Hudson Valley, with winners decided in each of those locations.

Attackman Christian Paley of two-time state champ Somers, the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in Connecticut history, will represent the Nutmeg State. Paley, a senior, is headed to the University of Hartford.

Johns Hopkins-bound attackman Connor DeSimone, a senior on Suffolk County finalist Smithtown East, will represent Long Island. DeSimone finished this past season with 60 goals and 54 assists for 114 points (second on the Island).

Another attackman, junior Brian Reda, fresh off leading Pleasantville to its third straight Section 1 (NY) Class C title, pulled out a dramatic win in Hudson Valley poll voting. Reda, who broke the school record for career points (255) in the sectional final, became the first player in Pville history to commit to a D-I program as a freshman when he verballed to Fairfield in June 2015.

We’ll round out the four finalists with a 24-hour poll for New Jersey.

The four winners from each poll will then be paired off in a final 24-hour poll for player of the year on Monday.

So vote right here, right now, for the Hudson New Jersey POY.

Please note, Twitter polls allow just four choices. You can cast a write-in vote by clicking on “Reply” below. Write-in votes count the same as regular votes.
