The Tristate Top 100 is now counting down to the best of the best.

Starting Thursday, will are making our way to our Super Sunday unveiling of the Top 50 players on Sunday, Oct. 16 with a new unveiling of a player group each day. That will be followed  on Monday, Oct. 17 by the complete rundown of Top 100 players and the bonus group of players.

We considered both performance at the varsity and travel level equally — unlike the unprofessional arbitrary numerical rankings which base their selections only by trolling summer showcases.

Our goal is to initiate a thoughtful discussion and get folks thinking in the months leading into the start of another season of varsity action in the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for the lacrosse, the NY/NJ/CT tristate region.

We started things off earlier today by unveiling the Top 10 attackman.

Here’s our day-by-day schedule of the publication of the Tristate Top 100 groups as we work our way to the Super Sunday unveiling of the Top 50:

First 10 attackmen – Today

First 10 midfielders – Friday

First 10 defenders/longstick midfielders – Saturday

First 5 faceoff midfielders – Sunday

First 5 goaltenders – Monday

First 25 seniors – Tuesday

First 25 juniors – Wednesday

First 25 sophomores – Thursday

Bonus group of players – Friday, Oct. 14

Second group of 50 players – Saturday, Oct. 15

Top 50 players – Sunday, Oct. 16
