darien 2016
From staff reports and press release

Led by three-time Connecticut state champ Darien, four tristate boys lacrosse team made the Top 10 in the final LaxPower National Coaches/Computer High School Ratings for the recently completed 2016 spring season.

McDonogh School (MD) is LaxPower’s national champion for 2016. The Eagles capped an 18-1 season by winning the Maryland MIAA-A championship. They placed in first place in both the computer ratings and the coaches’ poll, where they received 14 of the 31 first-place votes.

The top five programs in the country for 2016 are:

#1: McDonogh School, Owings Mills, MD (18-1) — Maryland MIAA-A champion
#2: Darien, Darien, CT (23-0) — Connecticut Class L champion
#3: Gonzaga, Washington, DC (19-2) — Maryland/DC WCAC champion
#4: Victor, Victor, NY (22-0) — New York Class A champion
#5: Bullis School, Potomac, MD (21-2) — Maryland/DC IAC Champion

The final rankings were compiled using LaxPower’s CCR rating formula, which combines the national computer ratings with a national poll. The computer ratings used for the rankings are based on 30,933 game scores for 3,952 high school teams. The poll is a product of rankings by 31 high school coaches from around the country. Each of these parameters represents 50% of the final tallied results.

Detailed information for all teams can be found at the link below. The combined CCR ranking, computer ratings, results of poll voting, members of the coaches’ poll panel, and a detailed explanation of the computer formula are available. Results for the Top 25 on each of the components and overall are presented below.
