The quick-moving early spring storm that swept through the tristate region Sunday night into Monday morning left several inches of accumulation of snow in some spots, especially east of NYC and on Long Island and Fairfield County (CT).

But temps quickly rose during the day and snow wound up evaporating in no time at all to allow for the smattering of scheduled Monday games to be played.

Now, we move on to second game day of the week.

The traditional season lid-lifter between Nassau powers Garden City and Syosset is on as the Trojans host the defending Long Island Class A champion Braves at 4:30 p.m.

In another matchup of Nassau powers, South Side visits Cold Spring Harbor at 4:45 p.m.

Among the matchups, in Section 1 (NY), Arlington hosts rival Putnam Valley in a 12 p.m. contest.

In another matchup of Section 1 contenders, North Rockland visits Byram Hills at 4:30 p.m.

Rye hosts John Jay in a scrimmage of Section 1 powers at 4:30 p.m.

In Suffolk, Bayport-Blue Point hosts Sachem East in a 4 p.m. regular-season game.

Smithtown East visits Chaminade in a 4 p.m. scrimmage of national powers.
