From press release
Lafayette College has announced the makeup dates for the men’s and women’s lacrosse games postponed by the recent outbreak of a contagious stomach virus on campus that has been confirmed to be due to norovirus.
The women’s lacrosse team, originally scheduled to play at Rutgers this past Tuesday, will now travel on Wednesday, March 16y for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Scarlet Knights. The contest against Central Connecticut State, originally scheduled for this past Wednesday, continues to be postponed until a reschedule date is determined.
On the men’s side, the game at Navy, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, will now be played on March 22 at 7 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.
Recognizing both the strain these illnesses have placed on our community, and the importance of minimizing student contact with visitors to the campus, the college cancelled all classes, co-curricular and extracurricular events, including intercollegiate athletics, effective immediately. This includes events scheduled for this evening. These cancellations will remain in effect throughout the weekend. The College will resume its normal operations on Monday.
For more information, read the full message from President Alison Byerly to the College community and parents on Wednesday afternoon here.
