It’s the most anticipated week of the fall among high school players who have decided on their college destinations.
It’s when that decision becomes official — and binding.
It’s the National Letter of Intent Fall Signing Week.
As always, we will be providing in-depth coverage of this once-in-a-lifetime moment for so many throughout the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for lacrosse, the NY/NJ/CT tristate region, and the entire lax galaxy.
This year, signing week begins this Wednesday, Nov. 11 and lasts through Wednesday, Nov. 18.
NLIs must be attached to athletic scholarships, so committed players to Division I programs that do not award athletic scholarships (such as the Ivy League and military academies), as well as committed players to Division III programs, do not sign NLIs to make their verbal commitments binding.
But plenty will be doing precisely that from Nov. 11-18. Nearly all of those commitments have been previously reported here, of course. That does not take away from the excitement on display when student-athletes take a few seconds that, in effect, signals a new chapter in their lives.
