Recent Smithtown East High School (NY) graduate John Daniggelis enjoyed several once-in-a-lifetime moments during a mind-boggling stretch of achievements, accomplishments and accolades that few (if any) New York state high school athletes have ever matched.
The Yale-bound Daniggelis earned the Ray Ennis Award as Suffolk’s outstanding player, the US Lacrosse Bob Scott Award as the player who goes above and beyond in service to his school, team and community and, as football quarterback, was named MVP of the Boomer Esiason Empire Challenge at Hofstra University, also known as the “Boomer Bowl.”
If that’s not enough, Daniggelis made the final 50 cut for the Men’s National U-19 tryout and will be headed to Johns Hopkins University for team camp.
