How about the Battle of the Hills in Suffolk (NY) – Half Hollow Hills East playing at Half Hollow Hills West at Ray Enners Day to close out the regular season.
Ray Enners played at Half Hollow Hills High School (before it split east and west), a three-sport, five-year varsity star and one of the best lacrosse players in Long Island history. Enners, a Class of 1967 West Point grad, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was killed in service on Sept. 18, 1968.
Game time is 4 p.m.
Then there’s the renewal of arguably the No. 1 rivalry in Connecticut as New Canaan hosts defending Class M state champ Darien, winners of 34 straight and four in a row against the Rams. Oh yeah, it’s also a matchup of the top two ranked teams in the New Haven Register poll.
A crowd numbering in the thousands is expected at NCHS.
It’s also title time in the New Jersey county playoffs. (Rundown below.)
One other matchup we like – CHSAA power Fordham meets defending New York Class C state champ Bronxville at 11 a.m. at FP.
