Notre Dame drew the No. 1 seed in a close call over No. 2 Syracuse in the major storyline of the NCAA Tournament selections announced Sunday.
A double-OT win by Notre Dame over Syracuse pushed Notre Dame to the top seed, said Heather Lyke, NCAA Selection Committee chair, said.
Brown’s selection over Ivy League finalist Princeton in the field is also likely to be a topic of discussion. However, Brown beat Princeton in a regular-season meeting.
