The list of power programs in Suffolk County on Long Island is a long one — and those are just some of those on that list.
But of the 49 varsity programs in Suffolk, there is now just one unbeaten team.

That’s right. The Thunderbirds, who last week defeated Ward Melville for the first time in school history, improved to 10-0 Wednesday by beating Sachem East 15-9.
Meanwhile, Half Hollow Hills East was dealt its first loss – falling to Smithtown East 18-10, a Smithtown East team that suffered its first setback in its previous game — to Northport.
Today’s schedule is dominated by some big clashes in Connecticut.
Darien takes a 28-game win streak into a 4:15 p.m. home game against a Ridgefield squad eager to bounce back after losing to Greenwich for the fifth straight time.
Then, at 7 p.m., New Canaan, fresh off an impressive win over Ridgewood (NJ), hosts a Wilton (CT) team that beat Fordham Prep (NY) earlier this week.
