It was the busiest day of spring-break week in the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for lacrosse, the NY/NJ/CT tristate region.
Among the highlights from games played on a wild Wednesday that drew notice from the entire lax galaxy, starting with Suffolk County (NY):
* Harborfields 9, Sayville 8, OT. Tristan Capes-Davis scored three goals, including the game-winner, and Kyle Lumpe cmade 21 saves.
* Half Hollow Hills East 17, Bellport 9. Sean Lulley had six goals and two assists and Joe Tesoriero had five goals and two assists.
* Half Hollow Hills West 10, Riverhead 5. Stony Brook University-bound finisher Ryan Ozsvath had four goals and one assist and Duke-bound feeder Cam Mulé had one goal and four assists.
Moving to Nassau County (NY):
* Griffin Miller made 25 saves for Calhoun in an 11-10 upset win over previously unbeaten Wantagh. Wagner University-bound Spencer Kaufman had one goal and four assists for the Colts. Kevin Dolan added four points.
In the CHSAA, Kellenberg beat St. Dominick’s 10-8 and Chaminade defeated Iona Prep 8-1.
Now, to Thursday’s games.
As you’ll see, it’s a busy day, featuring a Long Island shown between defending Class A New York state champ Massapequa and 2013, ’14 NY Class B state champ Garden City.
Game-time is at 11 a.m. at Massapequa’s Burns Park.
Also of note, Colorado power Cherry Creek plays the first of two games in the Garden State , first taking on Bergen Catholic (NJ), and CHSAA (NY) power St. Anthony’s travels to Philadelphia to face Episcopal (PA).
