The first day of spring storm that moved through the NY/NJ/CT tristate region is moving east and the forecast for Saturday calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high in the low 40s.
But the snowfall did result in several games scheduled for Saturday being pushed back time wise, including the marquee matchup of the day: two-time CHSAA (NY) Nassau-Suffolk Class AAA champ Chaminade at 2013 Class A state champ Ward Melville.
Originally scheduled to start at 10 a.m., the game is now scheduled to get under way at high noon.
Later in the day, defending New York Class C state champ Bronxville takes on Smithtown West at St. John’s University at 1 p.m.
Also of note:
Garden City (NY) vs. St. Paul’s (MD), 10 a.m. (One Love Invitational at St. Paul’s)
Manhasset (NY) vs. Boys Latin (MD), 1 p.m. (One Love Invitational at St. Paul’s)
Huntington (NY) at Northport (NY), 9 a.m.
Baldwin (NY) at Half Hollow Hills West (NY), noon
Smithtown East (NY) at Locust Valley (NY), 1 p.m.
Pelham (NY) vs. Mount Sinai (NY) at University at Albany, 4 p.m.
There are also several scrimmages on the slate for Saturday, including the seventh annual Somers Red Gray Preseason Shootout, marking the debut of new Somers coach Vin DeGregorio.
