A bucket of ice water brought awareness to ALS this past summer.
Kyle Feeney is hoping a slice of pizza — make that 365 slices, to be precise — can do the same thing for Autism.
The former Greenwich (CT) standout and Bucknell University goaltender and MLL draft choice of the Charlotte Hounds is vowing to eat one slice of pizza each day in 2015.
Feeney has become pizza-crazed in a bid to raise $10,000 for Autism Speaks.
“Upon awakening in the early afternoon of January 1, 2015 I had an unsatisfiable craving for pizza,” Feeney wrote on the gofundme.com page dedicated to the effort. “By the time the night was over, my friends and I had concocted a challenge that will in all likelihood result in my waist size growing. Everyday for the next 365 days, I will eat at least one slice of pizza.”
But wait, as they say in the infomercials, there’s more.
If Feeney reaches his goal, he vows to permanently mark the accomplishment.
“If met, I will get a tattoo of a pizza slice while … you guessed it, eating a pizza slice,” Feeney reports. “If by some divine miracle I raise more than the goal, I will add another slice to the pizza pie for every additional $10,000 raised. All of the proceeds will go to charity.”
