The 2015-16 SweetLax National team, featuring many players from the Long Island, upstate New York and Connecticut, came away with the championship at Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament in Wesley Chapel (FL), beating Six Nationals 7-6 in overtime in the final as Johns Hopkins-bound senior Alex Concannon of Syosset (NY) scored the game-winner. Concannon was named Under Armour Game MVP.
Concannon’s goal came after Penn State-bound junior Gerard Arceri of Smithtown East (NY) won the faceoff.
Three Sweetlax standouts from Connecticut: Peter Dearth (Ridgefield HS/Syracuse), Lucas Jackson(Staples/Loyola) and Will Perry (Greenwich/Providence).
