It’s going to be a wet, wild and windy one in the tristate region on Wednesday, with the heaviest of the rain expected to bring up to 4 inches of precipitation through midday Thursday set to arrive.
The action on the field should be pretty wild, too.
Starting on Long Island.
The marquee matchup there features Friends Academy (9-2) and Cold Spring Harbor (7-3) in a rematch of last year’s Nassau Class C title game, won by the Quakers.
There’s a big Suffolk (NY) showdown as defending state champion Ward Melville looks to break Sachem North’s five-game win streak. The game is at Sachem North.
Also in Section 11, Connetquot and West Islip meet at ‘Quot, Half Hollow Hills West hosts Patchogue-Medford and Sachem East hosts Hauppauge.
Two of the nation’s top Catholic powers renew their rivalry as defending Connecticut L state champ Fairfield Prep hosts St. Anthony’s (NY) in a 5 p.m. affair.
In New Jersey, Ridgewood, which handed Somerville its first loss on Saturday, has a big test at home against Ridge, and two of the state’s top programs go at it when Seton Hall Prep, winners of five straight, plays at Summit at 4 p.m.
