Connecticut rivals Fairfield-Warde and Fairfield-Ludlowe renew their rivalry. Warde is off to a strong start and hoping to pick up its first-ever win against its intra-district rival.
Ludlowe has won eight straight games in the all-time series, which began after Ludlowe opened its doors in 2003. The last three meetings have seen Ludlowe win one-sided affairs, but that should change this time around.
Game-time is 7 p.m. at Ludlowe’s Taft Field.
Also in the FCIAC, 2013 Class L finalist Staples hosts Ridgefield and it’s the Battle of Norwalk as Norwalk visits Brien McMahon at 7 p.m.
Two teams that may not have been touted as Nassau County (NY) title contenders in the preseason will meet today as South Side (7-5) visits Carey (9-3). South Side beat Manhasset for the first time earlier this season.
In Suffolk County (NY), Huntington (7-1), coming off its first loss of the season (to Rocky Point), visits Sayville (8-3) at 4:30 p.m. at Depot Street Field. Harborfields (7-4) hosts Bayport-Blue Point (6-4), also at 4:30 p.m., and a pair of defending Suffolk County champs meet when Shoreham-Wading River (Class C) hosts Miller Place (Class B) at 4 p.m.
In Westchester, 10-time Section 1 finalist John Jay hosts perennial contender Somers , which last won a section title in 2009, in a 6 p.m. game. Defending Section 1 Class C champion Pleasantville (9-3) visits Horace Greeley (5-4), which has a win over Lakeland/Panas (NY) on its resume.
In New Jersey, South Brunswick visits St. Joseph-Metuchen.
