With New Jersey and Hudson Valley teams now off and running, we’re set for our first big week of wall-to-wall varsity action as Connecticut gets set for its April 9 season-opening date for public schools.

It’s a relatively light Monday before action starts to pick up beginning Tuesday.
Among the games on tap for today, St. Augustine Prep (NJ) visits Loyola Blakefield (MD) in an interesting interstate matchup featuring a tristate power against a team from the sport’s proud, age-old home base of the Baltimore. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
Millbrook (NY) visits at Avon Old Farms (CT) in another prep showdown. Game-time is 4:45 p.m. Millwood lost its opener to Loomis-Chaffee 7-6. Avon Old Farms is looking for its second straight win since an opening loss to Landon (MD).
Turning to Section 1 (NY), Byram Hills hosts North Rockland at 4:15 p.m. North Rockland is coming off a Section 1 Class A final appearance. Byram Hills is off to a strong start.
