Saturday marks Day 1 of the regular season in the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for lacrosse, the NY/NJ/CT tristate region.
There is only one regular-season game on the season, but it’s a big one as Connecticut prep power Brunswick visits Haverford (Pa.). Game-time is 11 a.m.
More tristate powers will also be in action with preseason events.
Delbarton, regarded by many as New Jersey’s top team, meets two-time New York state champ Garden City in an 11 a.m. scrimmage at GC.
The Smithtown West Preseason Jamboree includes Sayville, Sachem North, Comsewogue, Miller Place, Lindenhurst, Rocky Point and Smithtown East as well as West. Action starts at 8 a.m.
Beyond the tristate, in games of note, Loyola Blakefield (Md.) hosts Malvern Prep (Pa.), Episcopal Academy (Pa.) plays at McDonogh (Md.), Saint Ignatius Prep (Calif.) plays Coronado (Calif.), DeLaSalle (Calif.) hosts Torrey Pines (Calif.) and Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) hosts Boys Latin (Md.).
