It was quite a Saturday in the college lacrosse world.
Among the highlights: Marquette, in just its second year as a Division I program, won at Hofstra, which started its 66th season.
In other Saturday games, Duke pulled away to beat Denver, Georgetown edged Navy, Loyola prevailed over Penn State and Hopkins handled Towson. Get the full rundown of results and box scores here.
Now to Sunday’s slate.
Headlining the action, top-ranked Syracuse hosts an Albany team many are expecting big things from in the unofficial “Battle of New York.” You can read more about it here.
Also of note, North Carolina’s game against Manhattan, originally set for Saturday, will now be played on Sunday at noon because of winter storms. T
The Villanova at Lehigh game, scheduled for 7 p.m. has been moved up to 2 p.m., also because of weather.
The Bucknell at Bryant game will now be played at 2 p.m. It had been down as a 1 p.m. start.
St. Joseph’s at High Point has been moved from a noon to 1 p.m. start.
Binghamton at Sacred Heart has been moved from 1 p.m. to noon.
Army at VMI, originally a 4 p.m. start, will now be played at noon.
NBC Sports Network will provide live coverage of the Moe’s Southwest Grill Classic. Fifth-ranked Notre Dame takes on host Jacksonsville at 7 p.m. UMass then meets Ohio State at 9:15 p.m.
