Air Force has been flying high when it comes to landing commitments from standouts in the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region.
The latest commitment for the Falcons comes not only from beyond the tristate, but beyond the Northeast well.
It comes from athletic midfielder Cole Haverty of Westminster Schools in Atlanta.
The 6-foot, 185-pound righty is a physical strong two-way player with good versatility and a high upside. You can watch his highlight reel here.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Cole on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
I looked at several different schools and the mixture of academics, athletics and opportunity at Air Force was appealing. I was impressed with the commitment of the program at Air Force and the opportunity to serve my country.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Richmond, Dartmouth, Holy Cross and Princeton
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I find myself to be an athletic and physical midfielder who is strong at both sides of the field.
What area of your game do you need to work on?
Continuing to work on my box lacrosse skills around the goal.
How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
In elementary school, the father of one of my good friends put together a lacrosse team and most of us have played together through high school.
What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
Atlanta Thunder. Played in King of the Hill, NSCLA, Nike Blue Chip, Crap City Challenge, Best of the Best and Maverick Showtime.
Any final thoughts?
I want to thank my coaches Kevin Hudson, Tony Souza, Paul Deveraux and Mike Rabbit for their support.
I would also to thank my teammates over the past several years and my family for supporting me through this process.
