The Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions has quite a claim to fame, describing itself as “the only true national championship in the sport of lacrosse.”
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 29 through Tuesday, Dec. 31 in Wesley Chapel, Fla., just north of Tampa, Fla., and features the following boys divisions: Elite (current high school seniors and juniors), Rising Stars (current high school sophomores and freshman), U-15, U-13 and U-11.
The 12-team Elite division includes New York-based Sweetlax and the Jersey Thunder.
The New York-based Checkmate Sharks and New Jersey-based Black Dragons are among teams vying in the Rising Stars Division.
