Brian Feldman likes to finish what he starts.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound left-handed attackman is effective at using his size and strength to create goal-scoring chances.
“My strength as a player is when I get my hands free and can shoot in space,” Feldman said. “I have a pretty accurate, very hard shot so man up is fun for me.”
The 2014 standout from Canandaigua Academy also has the ability to dodge from behind or on the wing.
Feldman’s results speak for themselves. He registered 52 goals and eight assists last season as Canandaigua won the Section 5 Class B title.
Soon, Feldman hopes to be in pursuit of titles at the collegiate level. He decided where that will be, verballing to Quinnipiac University, a commitment first reported when it was made by Joe Lombardi on LaxLessons.com’s Lacrosse Insider special coverage section.
Joe is reporting that lefty attackman Brian Feldman has decided on the Bobcats after also considering Hobart and Hartford.
Feldman, who will be a three-year varsity starter in lacrosse this spring, is also a football standout for Canandaigua. You can watch his highlight reel here.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Brian on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
I chose Quinnipiac because I really liked the campus (size, convenience to walk to all the buildings), the fact that it is semi-rural, not in a city. I also connected well with the coaches and felt comfortable with them.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I visited Siena and Hartford and also considered Hobart.
What area of your game do you need to work on?
I need to work on seeing the field better, getting the ball out of my stick quickly to the open man.
I was introduced to lacrosse by my dad. He was the coach of a local high school team and had a stick in my hand when I was 2 years old.
What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I didn’t play for any travel teams, but attended Battle of the Hotbeds with my high school team. I participated in the Nike Upstate Risings team, and made the cut to the final 12 attackmen in the Under Armour upstate NY tryouts.
What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I want to thank my dad for supporting me and spending countless hours working with me to become a better lacrosse player. Also, my high school coaches for everything they have done to get me to where I am now.
