A total of 98 players were invited today to try out for the U.S. Men’s team that will compete at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships in Denver July 10-19, 2014.
Tryouts are scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Goucher College in Baltimore.
Those who are being invited were announced at halftime of the ESPN2 telecast of the Denver Outlaws-Chesapeake MLL game this afternoon.
The group of players is filled with standouts from the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tristate region, including Duke University faceoff specialist Brendan Fowler (pictured above), a graduate of Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y.
