The postponement of yesterday’s Section 1 boys and girls finals to today has made what would have already been a big day even bigger.
Boys and girls finals will also be awarded in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference in a doubleheader at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, Conn.
Fordham Prep and Iona Prep, who have played three straight one-goal games (all won by Iona), will meet in the CHSAA New York City/Westchester AA title game at 7:30 p.m. at Manhattan College’s Gaelic Park.

Today’s Section 1 (Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Dutchess counties) boys field features a pair of first-time sectional finalists in North Rockland (Class A) and Pleasantville (Class C).
Mamaroneck (Class A), which won its first-ever sectional title last year, is looking to make it two in a row.
Yorktown (Class B) is looking to take a sectional title for the 31st time in the last 34 years. The Huskers, who will be going for the 36th sectional title overall, will be meeting rival John Jay in the final for the third straight year.
All three games will be shown live on MSGVarsity.com.

Yorktown is That Good.
And maybe now Somers folks will give Coach Lou and Dalton a little credit!!! Instead of trying to push them out!!!
Yorktown is that good this year. First time in a while they have a legit chance at a state championship. Funny so does Ward Melville kinda like a throw back year.
Not all Schurrs fault. There is a short fall of talent on the horizon at Jay that started to show itself this season. Sav leaving, and the leadership at the youth league level changing the landscape- are going to make probably the next fours years at JJ troublesome. You’ll see more of a mid range class B team for a little while.
That being said, today’s loss was embarrassment and proof that things up and down have not remained as that of an elite program .
Hahaha. Love to hear from people that have no clue as to what they are talking about!
Did Yorktown or JJ substitute at all?
Yes
If you disagree, explain how and on which points. Your implication is …

6-2 in the second quarter
8-3 half
10-5 after three

Have to agree with Be there. Lots of talk of people wanting a change in Somers. Folks better recognize what they have. No Disrespect, but if you look at the talent . Then especially with the injuries on defense.. Factor in there strength of schedule. Not only should these guys stay, But should probably be coach of the year in B.
Woah, Rob Doerr coach of the year
