Congrats to Rye on what truly was an impressive season. I’m sure this was a battle. Interested in reading the details.
Great win for Jay, you guys took a huge defensive stand to get back to your tradition of going to the sectional finals- again. Enjoy this !
Rye one Ot save away from winning! Congrats Rye on a hard fought game. The defense was very strong. Pushed the defense out so every pass was quickly contested. Good luck JJ
Good D on both sides. Don’t overly crow too much about Rye but got to pay compliments to senior poles Tommy White( brother of goalie) and Brendan Wood and senior DM Jason Chin. Among others for next season, rising starting pole seniors Chavez (Syracuse), Regan and O’Brien are particularly talented. Rising jr Abate , DM/long stick middie will be a future star. Bennicassa , a senior Captain (Westminster PG/lacrosse)) and a very talented pole and hockey player could not play for most of the season as he was recovering from an injury.
Had just been thinking poles and DM above for defense but of course there is Peter White who did a fantastic job in goal all season, one of the best shot-blockers in Section 1 and IMO the MVP for the Garnets.
Lakeland/Panas leads Manaroneck 4-1 after one.
6-1 at the half.
6-3 after three.
Mamaroneck has pulled within 6-5 vs. Lakeland/Panas three minutes into the fourth.

Congrats to Jay on winning a hard fought good game. Rye had a clear shot to win in OT , J made the save and then converted on their possession. Good luck vs Town.
Congrats to Rye’s seniors who played their butts off on the lax field and in other sports as well, some being 3 sport athletes. Good luck in college!
Aside from a talented returning group the future is also very bright for Rye lax with numbers of talented kids coming out of the 8th grade and up that have risen thru the youth lax program.

Greenwich scores two straight to end the second quarter and leads Ridgefield 3-2 at the half. Alex Moeser and Simon Mathias each have two.

Tough loss for the Sailors. Pleasantville did what they had to do and played a great game. Good luck in the section finals.
Some congratulations are in order, even with the loss. Senior Kevin McDermott set the Hen Hud single season scoring record with 65 goals, and tied the school career scoring record with 155 goals and 226 points.
Matt Ledwin finished his senior season winning 284 of 340 face offs (83.5%), and topped out with 812 career varsity FO wins.
Congratulations Kevin and Matt and thank you to all of the Sailors, especially the seniors, for a very enjoyable year!
Final: Greenwich 6, Ridgefield 5. It will be Greenwich vs. New Canaan for the title. Second year in a row No. 1 seed has lost in semis.
And the 3rd time in four years, including 2010. New Canaan poised to become the first defending champion to repeat since Darien won three in a row 2004-2006.
Was proud of how the Blue Wave competed this evening. Not the most eye-pleasing lacrosse game ever but good hard work by both teams and a fair result. Player of the game in my opinion was the New Canaan goalie, made all the stops needed while nursing a one-goal lead most of that time. Darien had their chances on the man up a number of times and scored their lone goal of the 2nd half while man up. Congrats to the Rams on a well-earned win. Good luck to both NC and Greenwich in the finals.
I also had the pleasure of catching up with a famous TV analyst tonight, dutifully working hard but making time for an old Dad and kind enough to ask how his son was doing in college. Keep up the good work, young man.
Thanks for your excellent insights as always, Lax Novice.
We thought you were referring to Joe when you mentioned TV analyst until we saw the “young man” part! Just kidding and thanks again.
Why didn’t Bonaparte play? NC now plays the team they beat 12-0 for the FCIAC title? eh…
Hurt back in practice yesterday
