Rutgers University has concluded an investigation of allegations of verbal abuse made against its men’s lacrosse coach Brian Brecht that led to Brecht being suspended with pay since April 19 and has reinstated Brecht as its coach.

Here’s the official announcement from the university.

The Wall Street Journal’s “Urban Gardner” columnist, Ralph Gardner, meanwhile, takes a look at lacrosse, calling it “The Sport of Scholarships.”

    The Beast: “My kids will go to Cornell and get money for it,” boasted Mr. Gurenlian, 28, who attended Penn State on a lacrosse scholarship.

    Uh, Mr. Beast, Sir, excuse me, but the Ivies don’t give athletic scholarships, and that includes Cornell. Obviously there is a reason why they call you the “Beast.” Hopefully, the apple fell far away from this tree.
