We are at the midway point of a hybrid week in the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, the NY/NJ/CT tristate region.
The mix of final-week regular-season games and playoff contests is creating for a nice variety of exciting action.
Staples marks a first in its final regular-season contest as the Wreckers play their first night home lacrosse game at Staples Stadium when they host Weston at 7 p.m. A taped broadcast of the game will be shown on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m. on MSG Varsity Channel 14 (Optimum).
Also in Connecticut, Wilton hosts Yorktown in for the Jim Turnbull Cup in a CT/NY showdown at 4:30 p.m. at Fujitani Field. (Note: The game, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, had been a 7 p.m. start.)
In another border battle, Mahwah (N.J.) visits Suffern (N.Y.) at 4:30 p.m. at Suffern Middle School.
The Nassau County playoffs continue as Port Washington takes on Plainview JFK at Hofstra at 5:30 p.m. You can watch it live at MSGVarsity.com.
In a NY/NJ Catholic clash, Iona Prep hosts Bergen Catholic in a 4:30 p.m. encounter you can watch live at MSGVarsity.com.
