Nearly all of the discussion surrounding the announcement this week of a new 10-team Big East Conference centered on basketball.
For good reason.
The so-called “Catholic 7,” who broke off from the conference did so to form a new Big East where basketball was the priority.
But lacrosse is also a part of the equation.
Lax is one of the sports that will be covered as part of a 12-year agreement with Fox Sports.
Now, here are other headlines from this past week in the latest edition of LaxLessons’ “News & Notes,” the original and best compilation of lacrosse stories from throughout the web.

The TV deal could be a big boost to programs in the new Big East like Georgetown, Villanova, Marquette, Providence and St. John’s.
Anytime there’s more lacrosse on television, it’s a good thing.
I agree and the fact Fox Sports 1 will be a new national network broadcasting lax is also a good thing.
