Providence College has tapped into the Class of 2015 for its first recruit.
It’s Thomas Bianchin.
A lefty attackman, Bianchin transferred to Trinity-Pawling School (N.Y.) from Bishop Ryan Catholic in Hamilton, Ontario.
Bianchin is an explosive player who is adept at feeding and finishing, as evidenced by his highlight reel.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Thomas on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
The coaching staff and the school itself. I really felt comfortable and felt it was a fit.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
UMass, Lehigh and Brown.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
Mainly plays X, carries and controls ball very well, good dodging skills, and distributes the ball well.
How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
My dad introduced me to lacrosse when U was very young and just continued playing. I’ve also played soccer.
Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
My dad and my coaches.
What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in last summer?
I played for Edge 2014 and I participated in Prep School Showcase, All-Canada Games, NSCLA and Gait Cup over the summer.
