Lacrosse has emerged as the hottest sport at the varsity level in much of the nation.
That fact was apparent today as both Garden City and Chaminade won football championships on Long Island.
Yes, football championships.
You see, many of the leading players for both teams are Division I-bound for lacrosse — not football.

Really shows that while football may still be slightly more popular to watch at the HS level, the best HS football players know that lacrosse is what their future is. Quite telling.

And with all the info coming out about longterm effects of concussions in football, the gap between lacrosse and football at HS level will only widen in the next few years.
