One brand-new event and a tradition-rich showcase highlight the ahead.
The inaugural Empire State Cup in Syracuse and the Battle of the Hot Beds Tournament in Newark, Del., are the two events on tap.
There’s also another noteworthy event this week: the All-America Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. That is not a summer travel event, but features many of the top recently graduated boys and girls seniors in the nation. For the rosters, click here.
Modeled after the Empire State Games, the Empire State Cup features competition between following six regions: Long Island, Hudson Valley, Adirondack, New York City, Western and Central.
Action gets under way on Thursday, July 26 and continues through Sunday, July 29 when the gold-medal game will be played at 12:30 p.m. For the complete schedule, click here.

looks like Superstar is the top local travel team again as Superstar 2013 Blue is 6-0 at Hotbeds and also has bragging rights over Primetime 2013 having beaten them 14-4. ooch!
Westrock is 5-1 as well.
well earned victory over Prime Time while Lambert (UNC), Conley (Georgetown), Grass(Hopkins) and other committed players all were at home relaxing after a long summer with PT 2015 filling them for them that weekend. Wonder how Team Superstar is feeling over there other games with Prime TIme this summer…..
Will be interesting to see how competitive this is relative to the “real” ESG Games – and if it returns next year if the ESG Games themselves do indeed return as is hoped.

just a fan, those committed players not showing up has been a problem all summer for PT 2013. Nicky D got tired of those prima donnas and told all to stay home for the rest of the summer. LOL it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
