After a one-year hiatus, the West Islip Lions are back in the state championship game. WI got there by outlasting Niskayuna 9-6 in the Class A downstate semifinals at Hofstra University. West Islip will play Ithaca on Saturday, June 9 at Middletown High School’s Faller Field at 1:30 p.m. for the state title.
