After Syosset rallied from a three-goal early fourth-quarter deficit to beat Massapequa 14-13 in last night’s Nassau Class A title game, the Class A nightcap between Garden City and Wantagh had a tough act to follow.
But lightning prevented the game from being played.
So it’s been rescheduled for today at 3:30 p.m. at Hofstra University.
That just adds to what was already a stacked day of title games.
In Section 1, the three defending champions — Mahopac (Class A), Yorktown (Class B) and Bronxville (Class C) — will look to defend their titles in a tripleheader at White Plains High School’s Glenn D. Loucks Field.

Not much of a game in C.. Too bad seeding didn’t allow the BH-Bxville semi-final battle to be the final…would have been a lot more entertaining.
I got here at the 2nd half. HenHud didn’t score for 18 mins while bvlle ran off 7 straight. I gather HH played a better 1st half. BH played a pressure zone & scouted bvlle WELL. I predict the ville to be at hofstra & it’ll be a different story vs CSH/SWR or BBP
Any scores from Stony Brook? Who won Sect.11 C?

Congrats to Town. Jay should be proud of that effort and know that they played well. Good luck to Town in the state play-offs.
The best Section 1 championship I can ever remember. Mamaroneck beating Pac and JJ taking Yorktown into OT were unbelievable games to watch back to back.
Back to Back 9-8 Thrillers!! Sect.1 certainly had the better Sect. Championship Competition wise, Sect.8 & 11 weren’t as close, but something tells me the LI championship compared to Sect.1 vs 2 playoff, Hofstra will be the place to be on this dreary day
Congrats to Town for the win and super game and effort by both teams.
Ashame Jay had to lose. Bad call on unreleasable penalty cost them two goals and they still fought back. Also, bad decision by JJ coach to have long pole with ball after the timeout in OT.
Good luck to Anthony in college and the rest of the Pac team on a fine season. They gave it their best!
They had their chances. They couldn’t do it in OT. Town Won Legit. Give him a short stick The longstick taking the ball in that situation doesn’t make sense. Too much of a target, probably was why he dropped the ball pulling his stick away from a check
Lambert is the best player on the field. Giving him the ball in that situation was the right call, but after the dead ball, have his use a short stick. That was the mistake.
Agree totally
Im not sure what happened, but I think if you had Beck in the game, in that situation, you give it to him. It’s really impressive that they were able to fight back like that at less than full strength. Ferrentini stepped up as did the rest of the team. With the exception of Iona Prep and the regular season Somers game, I’d say Jay had a good year and that Schurr did a nice job. You get Beck, Lambert, Stewart and a number of other very good players back next year- they will be a tough out and they can look forward to starting now.
Wow. Didn’t realize they were all coming back. They should be next year’s pre-season favorites.
Yes Lambert best player but why not go with the offense that got you here. I’m sure if beck were healthy he would have got the call, why not Tini?
