It was Career Day for Tom Cirillo.
The Salisbury University-bound attackman registered a career-high and school record nine goals in Eastchester 12-10 loss today to Pelham.
“It means alot to me to set the record for my school,” said Cirillo, a senior who is the all-time leading goal scorer in EHS history. “I take great pride in my town and school and everytime I step on the field, I just try to do my part to get the win for Eastchester. The record is a great accomplishment and I’m grateful for my teammates who helped me achieve it.”
Half of Cirillo’s goals came while guarded by Notre Dame-bound Pelham defensive standout Matt Landis. Colin Reilly also defended against Cirillo.
Cirillo has now scored an astonishing 17 goals in his last two games. He had eight goals in an 11-6 win over Sleepy Hollow last Thursday.
“I have had nice (goal-scoring) stretches in my career, but not as many as the last couple games,” Cirillo said.

Great for Tom. Wonderful kid. Hard worker
Tom’s had a nose for the goal since he was young, congratulations on a terrific high school career. I’m looking forward to watching you play for the Seagulls for the next four years, let’s finish this season strong.
