If you were with us this afternoon on Twitter, you learned of a verbal commitment by one of the nation’s top sophomores.
Austin Fusco, a longstick midfielder/defenseman, decided on Syracuse University today, to end an intense recruitment and continue a family tradition at the same time.
Fusco’s brother, Yorktown senior attackman Frankie Fusco, has signed to play at Drexel. The Fuscos’ father, Frank Sr., was a defenseman and captain on the first Yorktown team in school history that advanced to the state championship game.
Be sure to check back to get Austin’s thoughts on his selection of Syracuse.
In other news, many college programs marked the official start of preseason practices for the 2012 season today.
With practice now under way, InsideLacrosse.com is counting down previews of the Top 40 Division I men’s program with a “Five Things You Need to Know” feature. You can check out stories on Bryant and Hobart that were published today.
Finally, as we’ve been telling you, the movie focusing on lacrosse, “Crooked Arrows,” is due to be released in April. The trailer for the movie was unveiled last week.
Also, you can check out the “Crooked Arrows” team from the movie, which includes Native American lacrosse players, in this video.
