In lacrosse, you play to win the game.
So perhaps it’s appropriate that former NFL coach and current ESPN analyst Herman Edwards is slated to give the keynote speech at the 2012 US Lacrosse National Convention, set for today (Friday, Jan. 13) through Sunday (Jan. 15) at the Philadelphia Convention Center.
Edwards famously said, “You play to win the game,” during a press conference when he was head coach of the New York Jets. It later became the title of his book on leadership lessons.
The world’s largest lacrosse-specific educational and networking event will be held in Philly for at least the next three years. More than 5,000 players, fans, coaches, officials, administrators and trainers are expected to attend the convention.
Walk-up registration is still available today (Friday, Jan. 13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), and tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 14 from 7 a.m. to noon).

I’m good watching football today. Sounds like just a bunch of trade shows.
