With the state championships ending the high school season a week ago today in New York and Connecticut and the Tournament of Champions title game wrapping up the season in New Jersey, today marks the first weekend of the summer travel season.
And Cantiague Park in Hicksville and Lehigh University are the places to be.
Cantiague Park is the host site of the New York Lacrosse Academy Eighth Annual Summer Showcase.
Action starts at 9 a.m. and continues through 4 p.m.
More than 40 teams are competing, with each team guaranteed three games.
The Lehigh Laxfest sponsored by Maverik Lacrosse is also set for today and tomorrow at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Games in the high school bracket are scheduled for Sunday. Saturday will be grades 3-8 and the U-15 bracket.
