While most reading this undoubtedly spent part of today once again digging out from the third major snowstorm to hit the region in the last three weeks, you can take some comfort in the fact that spring will be here soon, and before that, there will be plenty of lacrosse to enjoy
College teams from throughout the nation are starting official practice sessions this week.
Among them, New York’s most followed team, Syracuse. The Orange, ranked No. 1 this preseason by Lax Magazine as well as Inside Lacrosse’s Face-Off Yearbook gets things started tomorrow.
Syracuse will have a closed morning practice tomorrow. After its annual media day from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Manley Field House, the team will have an afternoon session, starting at 3:30 p.m. at Manley Field House Arena. Members of the press on hand for media day will be on hand for the first half hour of that practice.
The Orange have their first preseason scrimmage on Feb. 5 when they host Le Moyne and Hofstra.

Good luck to the former WI boys having their first “real” college practices today including Nicky G at UNC and Andrew H. at Towson.
It says in this article JoJo will be used mainly as an attackman this year, which is interesting bc I thought he would go back and forth between attack and midfield.

First TV game … Team USA vs Notre Dame in Orlando … Jan. 31 on ESPNU.
Very cool. It’s a great thing for lacrosse to be spreading out toward the midland with such a strong sports brand and this should be a fun game.
Also, Stevenson will broadcast five games on regional WMAR and one of the ESPN’s. DIII lax on TV…it’s all good.
Interesting article on Syracuse media day –

It would be a good move to red shirt Palasek to give him time to learn the system since he didn’t practice in the fall.
