Several players from Long Island and Connecticut were among 96 standouts who competed in the 2010 Champion Boys High School Showcase held this past week in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The players were divided into four teams, two of which, Team Spirit and Team Freedom, met for the championship, with Team Spirit winning 15-12 as West Islip’s Nicky Galasso and Avon Old Farms’ Connor Mooney registering hat tricks.
The championship game will be shown on Sunday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
Hauppauge product Zack Losco, a midfielder headed to Penn, joined the University of North Carolina-bound Galasso on Team Spirit.
